3 & OUT REPORT - UGA/UT MARTIN

During game week the staff at Dawg News Daily previews the matchup between the Bulldogs and their opponent. We focus in on 3 key position matchups or players that we believe will be the difference makers in Saturdays game.

DAWG NEWS DAILY'S 3 & OUT REPORT:

1. CARSON BECK

All eyes will be on Georgia’s new starting quarterback Carson Beck. Filling in the mighty big shoes that Stetson Bennett left will not be easy! Beck believes he’s ready for the moment. Beck is used to "mop-up" duty. This is the first time he'll be the anointed starter. This is also the first game with new OC Mike Bobo at the helm. Play-calling with a thin running back group may call for more pass plays called. How long his day is on Saturday will be interesting to watch with bigger opponents down the road. Plus, We are sure the coaches are interested in seeing both Vandagriff and Stockton in action as well.

2. Julian Humphrey

The starting spot at cornerback opposite of Kamari Lassiter seems to be up for grabs, and Humphrey certainly is in the mix there. In the past few weeks, Humphrey's play seems to be making a push that he may be the favorite. Saturday presents a chance for him to show that progress from a freshman that didn't get much time to a potential major contributor in his sophomore season.

3. Running Back Committee

Uncertainty surrounds Georgia’s running back depth headed into the weekend. That’s not a huge concern this Saturday, but it’s something that you want to sure up by the time conference plays starts in a couple of weeks. With Milton and Edwards nursing injuries it will look to be Running back by committee the next couple weeks.

One name that continues to come out of practice and scrimmages is redshirt freshman, Andrew Paul! Paul suffered a torn ACL last season so he will be eager to see the field this saturday. Others to look for in the backfield during Saturdays game: Cash Jones, Roderick Robinson, Mekhi Mews, and Possibly Dillon Bell. Expect a lot of quick back field passes to simulate as runs early on in the season.

DND's Score Prediction:

Georgia: 52-7 (Line: Georgia N/A)
