Dawgs Lose Inside Linebacker For Remainder of Season
Georgia will be down an inside linebacker when it faces South Carolina on Saturday and
likely for the rest of the 2021 season. Rian Davis, a redshirt freshman out of Apopka, Fl., has undergone surgery according to an instagram post. Dawg News Daily has learned that it is due to a significant injury to the quad muscle. Davis is not expected to return this season.
Davis played in UGA's week two win over UAB, recording one tackle. He appeared in seven of UGA's 10 games in the 2020 season with a regular role on special teams. Davis had a leg injury his senior season in high school that limited his time in 2019, but did see action in one game.
