2020 PRESEASON PROJECTED OFFENSIVE STARTERS & DEPTH CHART

Quarterback

Projected Starter
  1. Jamie Newman (Senior)- The Wake Forest GRad TRansfer comes in with a lot of media hype! UGA fans are salivating over his running ability but his arm is just as talented! Can he beat out another transfer? We think so...

Next Up
  1. J.T. Daniels (RS Soph)- The surprise of the offseason was the #3 recruit in the 2018 transferring from USC to Georgia. Daniels fits what Monken is looking for but did he get to Athens to late. Daniels is also recovering from a 2019 knee injury.

  2. D'wan Mathis (RS Fr)- Mathis has been cleared for team activities but is he ready to compete for time this fall? Could Mathis be leaning towards a transfer?

  3. Carson Beck (Fr)- Beck is a highly touted QB that the Dawgs were able to wrestle out of Florida. Beck is going to fight for some time, but a Red-shirt looks likely in 2020.

Running Back

Projected Starter
  1. Zamir White (Soph)- Zamir flashed some of his ability against Baylor in the Sugar Bowl. We liked seeing him running out side the tackles giving defensive backs fits trying to tackle him! Its his turn now to lead the Bulldogs backfield. Fully recovered from 2 ACL injuries, expect a big year from Zeus!

  2. James Cook (JR)- Due to the crowded backfield and Cook's ability in space, some wonder if he might get some opportunities in the slot. He probably won't. But expect the jet sweeps and dump passes in space to take advantage of his twitch! Cook needs to be more than the decoy he was used as in Coley's offense.

  3. Kenny McIntosh (Soph)- Mcintosh is built like a running back. Size and speed makes him a great option behind White and Cook!

  4. Kendall Milton (Fr)- Dell Mcgee does it again and brings in yet another 5 star recruit on campus, Milton is absolutely electric with the ball. With some traffic competition for carries in front of him, how many times will he get a shot to show his skills?

Wide Receiver

Projected Starters
  1. George Pickens (Soph)- He capped off an impressive freshman season with a huge Sugar bowl, where he made a game-high 12 catches for 175 yards and a touchdown. Expect Pickens to explode in Monken's style of offense and earn All-SEC honors.

  2. Demetris Robertson (SR)- Robertson had to be excited to hear of the offensive coordinator change. Coming from the PAC-10 where the ball is thrown 40+ times is exactly the style Roberton wants. Now the question is how often will the Dawgs really throw it?

  3. Justin Robinson (Fr)- 6'4 200 lbs as a freshman! Robinson has already shown flashes in preseason practices that may have him climbing the depth chart quickly! If you want to see a name that could breakout this season from this group, he is it!

  4. Kearis Jackson (Jr)- Jackson's role just became more critical with the loss of Blaylock. Feedback from preseason practice is Jackson is ready to take next steps.

Next Up
  1. Matt Landers- (R-JR) Another tall, big bodied WR who could be a big mismatch at the Z position. Landers has the looks and the talents to be a nice threat in this offense. His inconsistent hands will need to improve.

  2. Marcus Rosmey (Fr)- Rosemy is a highly ranked recruit that will be counted on to produce especially with the loss of Blaylock.

  3. Jermaine Burton (Fr)- Burton is drawing comparisons to Packers receiver DaVante Adams from the team at Sports Illustrated. His talents will have him in line to work right behind or maybe across from George Pickens!

  4. Trey Blount (JR) - Blount is going to push for a spot at X as a strong possession receiver.

  5. Tommy Bush (Fr)- Bush is a huge bodied WR out of Texas who will be a mismatch against any CB due to his 6'5 frame and speed. Bush has been waiting his turn and will work at X but should be a useful weapon in the red zone.

Tight End

Projected Starter
  1. Tre McKitty (Sr)- A transfer from Florida State. McKitty is the look of a 2020 TE. McKitty will mostly play split out as he is not known for his blocking but for his play-making ability.

Next Up
  1. Darnell Washington (Fr)- Offseason Knee surgery could delay his progress. But expect to see Washington split out and a factor in the redzone.

  2. John Fitzpatrick (Fr)- Another big bodied TE, Fitzpatrick is looking up at an insanely talented TE room. Another redshirt candidate due to a cluttered position group.

  3. Ryland Goede (R-FR) - At 6-6 & 240lbs, Goede is another big target in the middle of the field.

Offensive Line

Projected Starters
  1. Owen Condon- RT (Soph)

  2. Ben Cleveland- RG (Sr)

  3. Trey Hill - C (Jr)-

  4. Justin Shaffer- LG (SR)

  5. Jamaree Salyer - LT (JR)

UP NEXT:

*These are in no particular order as each can play multiple positions...

  1. Warren Ericson (Fr)

  2. Clay Webb (R-FR)

  3. Broderick Jones (FR)

  4. Tate Ratledge FR

  5. Warren Mclendon (R-Fr)
